To be honest, we started liveblogging that game last night, and gave up in like the 3rd inning when we realized that some days, we just want to watch baseball.
Sorry.
If you missed it, a blog couldn’t capture the sheer awesomeness of the game. There were multiple plays at the plate. There was small ball. There was long ball. There was Orlando Cabrera actually SPEEDING UP when he realized his two run homer was out of the park, instead of slowing into a trot. There were 60,000 crazy fans, and not a one of them left after the game.
Most of all, there was a…feeling. We’re not quite prepared to call it Team of Destiny, yet. But there was never a point, regardless of our prediction yesterday, when it didn’t feel like the Twins not just could, but WOULD win this game.
We’ll be posting a lot about baseball, of course, and you’ll have to excuse us. And we’re rooting for the Twins. (And the Sox, of course.)

I think it was a great game, and an Amazing comeback to win that division. But, they aren’t that good of a team. I know it’s very difficult to say that about a playoff team, but they are really just mediocre. For all the AL teams, I can name their starting lineups and pitching staff. For all the NL teams, I can name their lineups and AT LEAST 3 pitchers. For the Twinkies, I can name their starting lineup… but past Pavano, I’m not even sure who their pitchers are anymore. They are starting Brian Duensing in Game 1. WHO?
The playoffs have proven one thing, pitching wins championships.
No championship is going to be won by a team that has a starting pitcher with Carl Pavano as their ace. Especially when their offense doesn’t go much deeper than Morneau, Mauer, Cuddyer, and Kubel.
Even If I wasn’t a Yankees fan, I’d predict NY taking the series 3-1.
Boston… I’m thinking they are going to take care of LAA, because they seem to do that every year in the playoffs. Beckett, Lester, and Bucholz is a great top 3 (if Bucholz pitches like he can). I’d say that series is probably 3-1 BOS, winning the first 2, losing Buch’s, and winning Game 4.
Then we get treated to another NYY-BOS matchup.
